A soft place to land in Fredricksburg, Texas — where animals in need find safety, love, and the homes they deserve.
Kristen's Kritters was created from a simple belief: every animal deserves to know what it feels like to be safe, cared for, and loved.
Set on peaceful acreage in Texas, Kristen's Kritters is a growing animal rescue dedicated to giving animals in need a soft place to land and helping them find the homes and lives they deserve. What began as a dream of creating something meaningful has grown into a place of refuge, connection, and second chances.
At the heart of it all is Kristen, a lifelong animal lover with an especially big heart for those who need a little extra care. Whether that means opening her property to an animal in need, helping one heal, finding the right forever family, or — apparently — being persuaded to rescue a few cats along the way, Kristen believes every life matters.
Kristen's Kritters also carries forward the love and memory of Kristen's late husband, Larry. His legacy is woven quietly into this special place, including a plaque that hangs on the rescue barn in his honor. What they shared continues to inspire Kristen to turn love into something that reaches far beyond herself — creating a place where more lives can be changed for the better.
Today, Kristen's Kritters is just beginning its story. With a newly completed rescue facility, plenty of room to grow, and a vision for helping animals throughout the surrounding community, this property is becoming much more than a rescue.
It's becoming a sanctuary for new beginnings.

Kristen & Larry — the love that started it all.

Two young cats from an overcrowded colony are on their way to us. Settling in first, then up for adoption.
Expected from a partner shelter any week now — breeds, sizes, and personalities happily TBD.
A bonded older pair will be looking for a calm retirement home to share together.
Can't adopt right now? New animals arrive all the time — check back soon, or support their care while they wait.
Whatever an animal needs to get from "nowhere to go" to "safe and loved" — this is where we show up.
We take in animals from shelters, strays, and families who can no longer care for them — always with compassion and never with judgment. Every arrival gets a full health check and a soft place to land.
Loving temporary homes give animals a chance to decompress, learn house manners, and show us who they really are. We provide the food and vet care; our fosters provide the love.
From shelter pulls to vet appointments to meeting adopters, our volunteer drivers move animals safely across Texas — often the ride that changes everything.
Some animals are too old, too sick, or too traumatized to be rehomed — and that's okay. For them, this property is home for life, with comfort, dignity, and people who know their names.
We help neighbors keep their animals through tough times with food and supplies, and share humane education on spay/neuter and responsible care at local events.
Time, money, supplies, or a spare room — it all adds up to safe, happy animals.
Donations go straight to vet bills, feed, and facility care. One-time or monthly, every gift is tax-deductible — and deeply felt.
Open your home for a few weeks or a few months. We supply food and vet care — you supply the couch and the calm. Fostering saves lives directly.
Extra hands for feeding, transport runs, events, photography, or barn chores. Whatever time you have, there's a job with your name on it.
